PLANT DESCRIPTION
  1. Difficulty Level - Easy
  2. Plant Height - 6 - 7 feet
  3. Type - Outdoor
  4. Feed - Prepare the soil before planting bitter gourd seeds by mixing compost. During growth, some aged compost can be used as side dressing or one can also use comfrey or seaweed tea if the soil is not fertile.
  5. Watering - The bitter gourd has a medium to high water requirement. Water both greenhouse-grown and potted bitter gourds frequently. When the top layer of soil is dry, water your bitter melon.
  6. Sunlight - full sunlight
  7. Germination Time - Approx. 2 – 3 weeks
  8. Fruiting Time - 7 weeks
  9. Harvesting Time - 8 weeks
  10. Suitable Temperature - 60°F - 70°F
  11. Season - Annual 
  12. Sowing - Summer
  13. Soil - Bitter gourds require nutrient-rich well-draining soil mixed with aged-compost or manure 
HOW TO GROW BITTER GOURD FROM SEEDS
  1. Take a Seedling Tray and fill it with Cocopeat.
  2. Make ½ inch deep hole and put 4 seeds in each hole.
  3. Fill the hole with Cocopeat and spray with water using a spray gun or spray bottle.
  4. Keep the soil moist, not soggy.
  5. Seeds will germinate within a week.
  6. Re-pot the sapling to a Medium Size Pot in 2 weeks.
  7. Full sunlight is needed.
  8. The time to harvest is 8 weeks.
ALTERNATE METHOD 
  1. Take a Medium Size Pot and add a Potting Mix.
  2. If planting in the soil add Neem Cake Powder, Vermicompost, and Seaweed.
